PAPELÓN

Puerto Rico - March 19, 2025 – Sabroso! is thrilled to unveil its new flagship space in 802 Calle Corchado, Santurce, Puerto Rico with its inaugural exhibition PAPELÓN open through April 24, 2025.
PAPELÓN, a term in Puerto Rican lexicon that refers to an out-of-control situation or problem, serves as a fitting metaphor for the exploration of paper’s delicate yet enduring nature as an artistic medium. As artists work with this ancient material, they are reminded that each mark is permanent and irreversible, reflecting the risks and uncertainties inherent in the creative process. This exhibition will showcase the incredible potential of paper, a medium that has been essential to human creativity for over 2,000 years. From writing and sketching to sculpture, paper has played a vital role in the history of art. The exhibition invited a select group of artists to create with the only requirement being that the piece honors the potential of paper in some way— traditional or not.
PAPELÓN brings together a dynamic collection of works that span generations and artistic approaches, featuring both internationally established artists and emerging talents, including: Adri Badillo, Alejandro “Saki” Sacarello, Annette Hur, Aria Almanzar, Diego Antonio Espaillat, Gabriel Sanchez, Hell Gette, Hernán Ayala Tirado, Jason Pulgarin, Katherine Bernhardt, Larissa De Jesús Negrón, Lauryn Levette, Mariceliz Pagán, Pedro Troncoso, Peter Saul, Poncili Creación, Rossana Romero, Shingo Yamazaki and Toussaint Rosefort.
